Katie
King is Associate Professor of Women's Studies at the University of Maryland,
College Park, where she has been teaching since 1986. Involved in U.S. lesbian
and feminist activism since the early 1970s, she received her Ph.D. in the History
of Consciousness at the University of California, Santa Cruz for work in feminist
theory and cultural production. She is currently completing two new books--
Speaking with Things: an introduction to writing technologies, and Networked Reenactments: histories under globalization.
