Amy Washburn has been a Ph.D. student and teaching assistant in the Department of Women’s Studies at the University of Maryland since 2005. She received her B.A. in English and Journalism from Mount Saint Mary College in 2002, her M.A. in English from the State University of New York at New Paltz in 2005, and her M.A. in Women's Studies from the University of Maryland in 2007. Her research interests include contemporary women’s autobiographical resistance literature; feminist, critical race, and postcolonial theory; social movements in the United States and Ireland; creative writing; and rhetoric and composition. She teaches in Women's Studies and English.
